The BSI International Study Centre offers quality education for talented and dedicated sports focused high school students. Modern day youth sport demands an extensive competitive and practical schedule, which is not catered for in traditional schooling.
The International Study Centre is a preferred choice of top class competitors and the number of sports we cover is growing year on year.
BSI has adapted and enhanced the distance learning model which provides the necessary flexibility for competition and training, by providing a fully managed, structured and disciplined environment for highly effective learning. Each student works at their own pace and has their own study plan, based around their competitive schedule and academic pathway.
We offer 2 international curriculum choices. The Cambridge curriculum provides a world class education and internationally recognised qualification. The American GED curriculum offers an alternative exit examination that is an ideal choice for many busy student athletes. We expect our students to be just as committed in their academics as they are in their sport, and those who don’t put in the hard work in either area will not reap the maximum rewards.
2025 fees are R67, 500 plus subject and exam fees.
We cater for all sports participants from Grade 7 to 12 (Football, Rugby & Athletics from Grade 8 – 12), with a low student / tutor ratio. Most students specialise in one particular sport, however we do cater for those who still wish to participate in multiple sports throughout their high schooling. The following sports training is available to BSI students, either in-house or through our Associate Academies or Associate Coaches:

A key feature of the schedule and our unique philosophy is the ‘Energising Sessions’ that we start each day with before academics. These sessions help to develop long term physical literacy, as well as preparing the students for optimum concentration for the day.

A fundamental element of a student’s development is their school education. The BSI International Study Centre provides students with personalised, high-quality and flexible education. We provide international curriculum, offered in a structured and disciplined environment. Each student develops their own flexible, individualised work plan designed to meet their sporting schedule and personal development pathway. Students are encouraged to take personal responsibility for their own development, and are fully supervised and supported by facilitators and tutors who aid their learning. Our model of learning is ideally suited for youth athletes as it allows time for sports training and a full schedule of competition without compromising their academic goals. Our students either get ahead of their work plans before key tournaments, catch up afterwards or take their books with them. Traditional schooling simply does not allow for this flexibility.
The BSI International Study Centre offers academic management and a student-led classroom environment. We support the Cambridge International Education and GED curriculum through service providers Learning.Support and Poplar Academy. Parents contract directly with their chosen academic provider on behalf of their child, supported and guided by BSI as required.
The BSI International Study Centre plays a supportive role for parents of sporting students. We provide an environment where student-athletes have an appropriate balance of supervised self-study and targeted subject tuition assisted by specialist tutors. As with mainstream schooling, students are required to spend additional time learning at home in the evening.
We offer this service from Monday to Friday (07:30–13:00) following a four-cycle yearly calendar. This flexible approach enables students to follow a full competitive schedule without the concern of falling behind academically; they work at their own pace based on a personal work plan.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on running a world class academy. The passion you and your staff have for the growth of our children far exceeds what we could ever pay for. You take a boy and turn him into a gentleman. You give them not only sports skills but also life skills. I am extremely proud and grateful.”
“Everything that was promised to us as parents is actually delivered. From your academics, to training, to support for Deane. Since joining BSI, Deane has really become a different person. He is far more happy and settled, for which we thank you all. He faces his challenges head on and in a very positive manner which is fantastic for us to see.”
"Just wanted to say that I consider myself very fortunate that we found your Junior Academy and are very pleased with the development of Linda and Konstantin in terms of both golf and personality. Thank you so much for the contribution of you and your staff”
"Our biggest surprise has been the level of professionalism with which the educational side of the school is handled. We are extremely happy with the education side as well as the golfing side. Kelsey gets the full support of professionals for golf, fitness & mental coaching. She is now representing Gauteng & has a ranking in South Africa for woman’s golf.”
"Since Josh joined the BSI Golf Academy in 2018 he has gone from a 15 handicap to a +1. With his school grades improving and gaining more responsibility and self discipline, he is more focused and dedicated.”
"Best move we ever made. My son has joined the BSI group in January this year and his golf has improved tremendously. Good job guys.”
