Since 2017 the BSI Boarding House has been providing student-athletes with a safe, secure and spacious environment to relax away from the academy. The home-away-from-home is staffed by a live-in Boarding Manager and Boarding Assistant, with multiple day staff, to ensure adult supervision at all times.
Boarders have the option of single or shared rooms. Included in the basic cost are access to uncapped wifi and DSTV so students are able to watch all of the worldwide sport available. Laundry and house maintenance services are also included in the basic costs.
Equipped with a large swimming pool, table tennis, pool table, foosball, darts, tv room, gym equipment and more, the facility enables boarders to relax, watch sports, play games, study and bond like family.
Our international boarders have hailed from France, Switzerland, Korea, India, Kenya, Uganda, Mauritius, Reunion Island, Seychelles, Madagascar, Zambia, Eswatini, Botswana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and more, plus from all across South Africa.
Meals are offered for either 5 or 7 days a week, with a healthy cooked meal provided in the evenings. Alternatively a self-catering option is available. Transport is available to and from the academy campus.
The boarding facility is located in a peaceful area of Eastleigh Ridge, an 8km drive from the BSI Campus in Bedfordview, and close to the popular Greenstone Mall. The suburb is gated and manned by security guards 24 hours a day.
The facility has 4 separate buildings. From 2026 we are opening a designated, secure and supervised section for female boarders.
A full security system is in place including extensive cameras. There is a strict code of conduct and safeguarding protocol enforced at the facility. Occupation runs from mid-January to the end of the academy year. Our borders are allowed to stay during all holidays except the summer break in December.
