Jason was born in Midrand, Johannesburg and has remained in Gauteng all his life, he completed his education through Cambridge Home Schooling. Attracted to golf through his father Lance also a seasoned professional and currently active on the Sunshine Senior Tour, he decided to take up the sport at an early age.

As a member of Kempton Park Golf Course, Jason won his first event at the age of 8, the monthly medal.
Numerous Club Championships followed.

He was part of the South African team and represented the country in Mauritius and Florida, USA. After an outstanding amateur career, Jason turned professional in 2014, his first win came at Kempton Park in the IGT Tour event (Satellite series of the Sunshine Tour) where he shot a career best 61 to take the trophy.

He has been active on the Sunshine Tour ever since but due to injury has only recently returned to competitive golf.
